I read recently that in a world of AI-dominated content and writing, radical transparency, candid takes and even batshit crazy opinions will not only stand out from the slop but might resonate with more readers. So, for this week’s newsletter, here’s some radical transparency:
This past week I did almost nothing to move CHUMP forward and it’s unnecessarily stressing me out.
Last week, I shared how my plans for 2-3 weeks of prototyping in May followed by 2-3 weeks of beta testing in June were thrown out the window by one Chat-GPT tweet that now has me scrambling to launch CHUMP ASAP. An unplanned scramble that couldn’t have come at a more challenging moment, as I’m currently in the midst of moving internationally. A move that has dominated my calendar and stifled forward movement on CHUMP.
But, this is okay. Why?
Because, no one really knows my launch timeline, so, whether I launch CHUMP in the first or last week of June is likely of no consequence to anyone but myself.
You see, when you’re a solo builder with no boss, you create your own timelines and thus your own stress should you not keep to said timeline. And, after realizing that Chat-GPT has already launched a similar idea to CHUMP, I have not kept to my timeline this week, and that’s okay. As I’ll still have CHUMP launched way before my original planned window of the last week in June.
En fin, if you’re building solo, with or without AI, this is your reminder to be kind to yourself, as life happens and sometimes you have to pack up your life in South America, sell a bunch of stuff on Facebook marketplace and head back to Massachusetts.
As always – nothing replaces action.
See you next Tuesday.
